Social satires, of course, are a dime a dozen. They are also incredibly preachy, their “humor” the forced laugh as typical of the politically correct as their ability to keep a straight face, when confronted with homosexuals and negroes, who as we all know aren’t funny at all (even though they used be in a less enlightened age).
This one is about consumerism, which isn’t very original, but as it turns out, it has a few surprises up its sleeve. On the surface, the Stuff is just another product that will make you hugely popular and successful, and first and last is good for you – probably vegan – the only problem being that while you’re eating it, it’s also eating you, from the inside.

In short, if you can sit through a movie starring an obnoxious child star and Michael Moriarty, you will be rewarded with some rather nifty effects, including a dairy product that acts like the Blob, and a denouement that’s pure genius, as the world isn’t saved by the progressive Liberals, but by the gun nuts, who recognize a commie plot, like fluorine in tap-water and the Civil Rights Movement – which of course makes perfect sense, when you think about it!
