Stephen Hawking er død. Forstår I?
Hvem skal nu fortælle os om Gud og universet, aliens og kunstig intelligens? Men frygter ikke!
Der vil aldrig være mangel på tronprætendenter til den ontologiske rullestol til glæde for videnskabsjournalister og ateistiske gymnasiaster. På Nettet vil man kunne vælge mellem visdomsord af Roger Penrose, nobelpristager og vinder af the Wolf Prize (with an o) ”for bidrag til vor forståelse af Universet”, givetvis sammen med Stephen Hawking – æres den, som æres bør – på baggrund at stjernehimle og sorte huller, smukt indrammet og klar til brug i talen til konfirmanden.

(Det skal dog retfærdigvis indrømmes, at the something that’s going on in the brain ikke er noget mysterium for Sir John Eccles, ”hjerneforsker” og endnu en nobelpristager: ”The mind exerts its influence over the brain by deciding which neurons will fire and which will not.” Now why didn’t I think of that?)
